Paul's Christmas Lights 2017

Switch on was 1st December 19:00 - 22:00 then following times 08:00-10:00  15:00:22:00 till Jan 6th.

The story of this years display?

After last years show I was hooked on the hobby of Christmas lights. The help that various forum members have given me has been invaluable. Rather than publish lots of pictures/videos on these forums I decided to write this page and just publish a link? I have been working through the year improving and building new models. This page is a record of all the work and elements I have made or repaired and improved from last year.

New this year

Two new tasks this year was the making of the two snowflakes and the lifting systems for the pixel strings on the big tree. Brought about by the fact that two of us only just managed to erect the big tree with all the pixels attached to the top last year. Much easier this year using an electric drill on the winch,

The show is over

The lights were switched off on 6th Jan were be taken down on Monday. The display has fared well in high winds, snow and rain. The sum of money at present being donated to Help For Heroes is £500.00 + we thank all our supporters.

Videos of this years display

As I type this the videos I have shot are being up loaded to the video page (click the button to view).

Pictures of the "out" (to use a theatrical term for taking down my lights).

Pictures we grabbed during a hard days work for Margaret and I are below. I cant thank Margaret enough for her help. Everything is back in my workshop with a list of running repairs that needs to be done before next December. And then to be stored away. And then start building new elements I am in the process of designing.

We collected for Help For Heroes this year our Just Giving page closed 20th January.

Total was £500.00 (plus Gift Aid)
